The popular software company FabFilter releases Saturn 2, the long-awaited update of the multiband Saturator and Distortion plugin effect.
A new design and new features are waiting for us. Linear phase processing, new distortion models, and improved visual support in the modulation area deserve special mention here. Overall, certainly more than a worthwhile update. At first glance, a new color of the graphical interface was tweaked and the “2” of course towers above the plug-in name.
In order to justify the update price, the developer has added a number of new distortion models to the already extensive selection. For this purpose, the “old” models were revised and modernized. A total of 28 styles are available here.
You can cover six different frequency ranges with different saturation effects. The band transitions offer settings with 6, 12, 24, or 48 dB / oct slope. If you use the mastering tool, you can now optionally use Linear Phase Processing and new HQ modes (up to 32 times oversampling) for even higher quality.
The new “Live Modulation” display is also very nice. With visual feedback in each modulation element, you can now see the waveforms in real-time. In addition, all modulation modules have also been revised and expanded. Perhaps this is also the starting signal for further updates of the other plug-ins from FabFilter, maybe “Volcano 3” in this style.
FabFilter Saturn 2 is available right here at ProducedSpot priced at 129 dollars. After purchase, the authorization code will be emailed to you.
