The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is one of the most important weeks in the global electronic music calendar. More than just parties and panels, it’s where the entire industry comes together: artists collaborate, new technology launches, labels discover talent, and students network with professionals shaping dance music’s future. This year, pointblank showed exactly how well-connected our community is within that ecosystem.

We got exclusive access to an intimate session hosted by our partner Beatport, featuring a rare performance by legendary minimal-techno pioneer Richie Hawtin inside Zwart Goud, one of Amsterdam’s most iconic record shops. We were honoured to witness Hawtin celebrate Zwart Goud’s 10th anniversary with a special Beatport Live set during the festival.
Brand Partnerships: AlphaTheta, Apple Music and Tribe XR
Our lecturer, DJ Shorty, represented Point Blank at the AlphaTheta x Apple Music DJ Workshop. He supported our partner AlphaTheta at the ADE Gear Test Lab and led an Apple Music session as a DJ trainer, helping aspiring artists take their first steps behind the decks. We also had our DJ Programme Leader and Senior Curriculum Manager, Ben Bristow showcasing V10 mixer demos for Tribe XR, further solidifying our team’s presence across ADE’s most forward-thinking platforms. As lecturers, they bring that same real-world expertise back to our students, keeping their learning grounded in current industry practice.
Alumni Performances and Panels
Halina Rice, who studied the Music Production & Sound Engineering degree, made a strong impact at ADE with a series of masterclasses and immersive live events. Known for her ‘immersive first’ approach, she blends music, art, and technology to create stunning Audio-Visual performances. Her masterclass, ‘Creating Show & Sound’, gave a behind-the-scenes look at how she builds her shows from the first idea to the final stage, which was a real treat for anyone interested in immersive live music.
The next day, she returned with her ‘FULL CYCLE 360°’ concert, combining spatial audio, visuals, and light into a completely immersive experience. Alongside a Dolby Atmos listening session and panel discussions on the future of club sound, Halina showed exactly why she’s becoming one of the most exciting voices in electronic music performance.
Tailor Jae, who studied our Music Production & Diploma was featured in Beatport’s Class of 2025 after her standout Mixmag DJ competition win and viral Boiler Room performance. This year at ADE, she joined a panel of rising electronic music talents at an exclusive Beatport: Next Artist Showcase. The event spotlighted the exceptional talent emerging from the Beatport Next artist accelerator program, with Tailor Jae stepping behind the decks for a powerful set.
